Fri, 13. Aug // 16:00, Literarisches Colloquium Berlin / Digital (online only)

Digital event

One important aspect of our future Union is working together to combat climate change. This panel will discuss the need and possibility of establishing a Middle East Environmental Majlis. This council will discuss environmental challenges and will guide the members states to form collaborative mechanisms to face the environmental challenges. The council will imagine new horizons for dealing with natural resources management, water and energy sharing and climate change adaptation beyond the borders.

Dreaming of a new Middle East embodied in social and environmental justice. This is done in the emergence of “Sacred Activism” which brings activism and spirituality together through deep connection with earth’s resources.
Sami Awad and Rina Kedem will share what they see possible for the region through local powers, language and traditions. They will speak from their work experience in the fields of nonviolence, healing, visioning, and environmental peacebuilding and share about their current projects with communities of Palestinians and Israelies.
Visioning globally, dreaming regionally, and working locally. Creating local practical improvements of social-environmental conditions is their path to a peaceful and just region and world.
